Basic Function:

Develops and maintains test cases, scripts and tools in a test lab environment in order to verify functionality of mechanical and electromechanical components of medical devices from development through production release.

Requirements:

BS Degree, Masters Preferred
1-3 years test lab or testing experience
Experience in working with or testing advanced electronics and analog/digital electrical systems
Experience in embedded processors, analog/digital hardware and interfaces, power supply design, motor control, and/or communication electronics
Mechanical or Mechatronics testing background is a plus
2 plus years in a position with heavy emphasis on electronic or software testing
Expertise in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, or C

Responsibilities:

Develop custom test equipment, circuits, and fixtures for testing prototype electronic/electrical components and products.
Develop test procedures, software, and/or scripts based on product requirements and engineering specifications.
Represent the test lab in engineering design reviews to ensure design/requirements are testable.
Develop, coordinate, and execute test cases on electronic medical devices at unit-, subsystem-, and full-system levels.
Assist design groups from initial design phase to final verification/validation, to ensure a smooth transition into production.
Work with off-the-shelf and custom test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers, and PC applications.
Participate in evaluating, recommending and maintaining engineering related computer systems.
Provide mentorship, where applicable, to Test Lab Engineers and Co-ops.
Maintain responsibility for accounts with respect to fixture expenditures.
May coordinate the activities of 1 or more subordinate and/or temporary employees
Generate requirements, design, and qualification documents for test systems
