Job Summary of the Power Electronic Systems Engineer:
We need a top preforming Power Electronics Engineer to play a key role in our Client’s software driven electro-mechanical systems comprised of:  motors, power components, battery charging and manangement systems (BMS), wireless networking and mechanical interfaces.  You will play a vital role in the total system design as part of an advanced New Product Development Team (NPD).   This is a health care product in the medical device industry.

Responsibilities of the Power Electronic Systems Engineer:
  • Design and development of NPD interfacing with SW and Mechanical Engineers software for medical device subsystems.
  • Ensure the alignment of product design with requirements.
  • Manage the project with team members during development, implementation and test.
  • Implement design strategies into the product for: motor controls; power electronics; board design; battery systems (BMS, SOC etc.) 

Qualifications of the Power Electronic Systems Engineer:
  • Bachelors in Engineering/Engineering Technology, Maters preferred
  • 3+ yrs. of experience in electrical engineering design including board level mixed signal design for power electronic systems OR a combination of analog hardware with embedded and wireless communications.   
  • Experience in all phases of full life cycle product development is a MUST HAVE
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals related to motor controls
  • Solid understanding of firmware, communication protocols and wireless networking
  • Experience with Class II/III medical devices will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ in an embedded system is a PLUS.
  • Expertise in tools such as: PADS, ORCAD, Altium, Mentor Graphics or similar layout and design tools is a MUST HAVE
  • Expertise in development tools such as: Labview/ Matlab, Mathcad other simulation software 
  • Passion for hands on experience with electronic build and test equipment

Compensation of the Power Electronic Systems Engineer:
Salary Range:  $75000-$115,000/year, depending on experience
