Summary of the Embedded Software Engineer-Safety System:
Embedded Software Engineer with experience in real-time software development is needed to manage the software design and development for Safety Critical Applications for one of our clients in Michigan. This client is a leader in the development of ADAS/autonomous driving systems. If you have experience with real-time software development for automotive or aerospace applications, then this position is well suited to you.

Responsibilities of the Embedded Software Engineer-Safety System:
  • Design and development of embedded software for safety-critical applications
  • Document, analyze and review requirements
  • Develop modular software for embedded 16/32 bit microprocessors/controllers
  • Write unit/development test plans and conduct tests
  • Work on and ensure the quality, design, development, and release of software project elements
  • Perform basic functions of software design, code and test on assigned new features, change requests and defect fixes
  • Provide regular updates of progression to software lead and team for project planning, tracking and oversight
  • Identify or propose product process or infrastructure improvements
  • Exemplify consensus building and team-focused behavior

Qualifications of the Embedded Software Engineer-Safety System:
  • BS in CS/CE/EE, Masters preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Embedded or real –time software development for automotive or aerospace systems
  • Experience with C and assembly programming for 16/32 bit micro-controllers
  • Knowledge of Decision tables, state diagrams, structured programming, configuration management and version control
  • Experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscope, function generator, power supply, etc.
  • Hands on experience with embedded software tools
  • Experience with Automotive and control applications
  • Strong knowledge of modern electronic control circuits which includes discrete, power and custom ASIC
  • Specific knowledge of automotive CAN communications protocols such as GM LAN, Ford FNOS
  • Knowledge of the following tools will be a plus:
    • DOORS Requirements Management, CodeWrite, Freescale, Infineon or NEC Microcontroller tools (Compiler, Emulator, Simulator), QAC, Greenhills/IAR, Tasking Compiler, iSYSTEM WinIdea, and MKS Source Integrity

Compensation of the Embedded Software Engineer-Safety System:
Salary - $75,000-110,000/year, depending on experience level

Travel: As and when required
