Summary of the Embedded Sales Applications Engineer Position:
Business Development Manager with CAN vehicle networking related experience is required to play a vital role in the development and implementation of business strategies to meet the product line and sales goals of one of our best clients developing automotive embedded systems and communication tools. They’re growing at a rapid pace due to their development of cutting-edge automotive technologies. In this role, you will be managing key customers and will expand the sales by introducing new products, processes and services to the market. Responsibilities of the Embedded Sales Applications Engineer:
  • Facilitating business expansion with key customers by identifying and analyzing technical needs.  .
  • Act on leads from other team members at existing clients to increase the use of company products and sale goals.
  • Interact with the customers to develop long-term technical business relationships
  • Grow the sales from existing customers by introducing new products, processes and services
  • Gather data/information about competitive products for market strategy
  • Identify, specify and propose projects to assist customers integrating company tools into their processes
  • Identify and facilitate support solutions for diagnostic tools and other product lines used by product developers and test engineers at OEM’s and suppliers
  • Train customers for the use of company products and services
  • Demonstrate company tools and promote them within customer organizations and workshops.

Qualifications of the Embedded Sales Applications Engineer:
  • Bachelors in Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of business development and support experience in vehicle networking and test system related field
  • Familiar with CAN vehicle networking, J1939, LIN, MOST, FlexRay and/or AUTOSAR
  • CAN tools experience is a MUST HAVE
  • Vehicle networking interfaces is a BIG PLUS
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ for embedded systems is desired
  • Knowledge of XML, NET and MATLAB/Simulink is a plus
  • Knowledge of automotive diagnostic standards such as UDS (ISO14229), ISO15765, SAE J2534, ODX (ISO22901), WWHOBD (ISO27145), etc.
  • Knowledge of measurement and calibration standards such as  CCP/XCP is desired
  • Knowledge of OEM/Tier1 automotive ECU development and testing process
  • Strongly skilled in persuasion and facilitation for being effective with different personnel levels and functions both at the customer and internally
  • A desire to develop and close new business by working with other engineers
  • Experience working with Vector tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CAPL, Data Loggers, VT System is desired
  • Ability to travel to customer sites outside SE Michigan when required
Compensation of the Embedded Sales Applications Engineer:
Salary Range:  105 to 120K year as per the experience
